ABG Fulfillment

ABG Fulfillment (ABG) offers a continuum of services and a diverse range of opportunities for people with mental retardation. The program develops employment and social skills through vocational training, support for successful employment in the community, and day habilitative care. ABG assists people to develop competitive employment skills through paid work experience. The program serves 223 individuals in Fort Worth., Texas.
 

Goal

The goal at ABG is to provide life-fulfilling opportunities for personal growth, skills development, and to help people become more self-reliant.
 

History

Mental Health Mental Retardation of Tarrant County has operated a traditional blend of sheltered workshop and habilitation services for adults with intellectual disabilities for over 35 years. In 2006, the program name was changed from Affirmative Business Group to better reflect the program focus: providing career training and employment opportunities for people through the operation of an assembly and packaging business.
  ABG Fulfillment is located in a spacious 60,000 sq. feet warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas

A worker prepares promotional materials for a mailing. Thanks to the Amon G. Carter Foundation a new shrink wrap machine and equipment has increased production capabilities and is helping ABG workers to become more self sufficient.
